Many large companies are set up this way and it almost always guarantees that they each work completely independent of one another. My first impression when I saw the announcements for Avid Studio was that it probably was a Pinnacle product or was a former Pinnacle product remade by Avid.Įven if they are "under the umbrella" they are likely considered SBU's and therefore can and do act independently of the mothership.
Some did things in a way that anyone else could follow fairly easily when it came to make changes but some did things in a way which made it almost impossible to follow when trying to make changes.Ģ.
WHAT IS AVID PINNACLE STUDIO SOFTWARE
The software we use was almost all designed by our customer's employees but each one of them did things a different way. Being a programmer for part of my job, I run into this all the time. Each had (and probably still has) their own programmers with their own ways of doing things. were (and may still be in reality) separate companies. I suspect that this new "Studio" is just a re-vamped/re-tooled Pinnacle product with Avid branding. The grocery store brand of canned green beans is still made by a major manufacturer of canned green beans, they just change the labeling. If you think that changing some wording on the Pinnacle Studio box/install discs/literature and splash screen to now say "Avid" means that it's a blue-blood, dyed in the wool Avid product, you're probably going to be disappointed. I was preparing something similar (for when I can can access my own website again - that's lost on my system and I have to re-write the whole thing from scratch again ) - but having seen your run through, saves me the effort! (Maybe when I do get round to sorting out/redesigning my site, you would accept a link to your video?) Must admit, while I could understand Liquid and MC not happily cohabiting (from different stables originally), Liquid and P Studio seemed to manage together OK, and I rather hoped that two Avid products would be able to live with each other in harmony. is this a Pixelan thing again - the thing that probably caused me so much grief trying to activate MC on a Liquid machine? If that is the case, I shall be a bit stumped. Pinnacle Studio will be lost from my systems for ever - AS was going to be the editor for 'quickies' over Liquid in future.īut now you've put me off.
I haven't tried that, but when I get my new stonking great PC (tomorrow! tomorrow!) I was hoping to put them both on the same machine(drive), and leave Liquid ruminating in retirement on the old machine.

Lew - you're suggesting that it isn't advisable to install AS and MC on the same drive/partition.
